Dominating Wipe Day
Official force wipe lands on the first Thursday of every month, usually around 19:00 UK time. This guide covers what resets, where to farm in hour one, and how <a href="/rust-cheats/">rust cheats</a> overlays shorten the first night.
What wipe day actually resets
Facepunch ships a monthly build that bumps the network protocol. Old world saves do not load. Every server has to generate a new map.
That is the force wipe. It is not a setting you can skip. Community hosts still choose whether blueprints wipe with the map.
A map wipe clears bases, deployables, and dropped loot. A blueprint wipe also clears crafting unlocks. Many PvP servers keep weekly map wipes and save the full reset for the monthly patch.
Check the server title and Discord before you queue. Weekly servers feel like a new island. Monthly servers keep progression and get crowded on Thursday night.
First hour: bag, recycler, workbench
Spawn, grab cloth and wood, then plant a sleeping bag inland. Do not fight on the beach for a rock. Move.
Hit roadside barrels plus a Tier-1 monument with a recycler. Mining Outpost, Oxum’s Gas Station, Abandoned Supermarket, and Lighthouse are the usual first loops. No radsuit. No keycard.
Site the first 1x1 near that recycler, not next to Launch Site. The walk home with a full inventory is what gets you killed.
Hour-one goals are simple. Wood shelter. Bag. Sheet metal door when you can. Workbench 1. A bow or Eoka. Then stone upgrade before night.
How overlays change the first night
Wipe PvP is close range and noisy. Roof campers sit on fresh 2x1s. Groups roam roads between monuments.
A rust esp read shows players through trees and walls, plus scientist dots on the monument you want to clear. Pair it with rust aimbot smoothing when bows and crossbows start flying.
Check Status after the monthly Facepunch build. Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) loads with the client and scans while you play. Configs get rebuilt around that patch, not around a one-time promise.
