How hidden stashes work in vanilla
The Small Stash is a default blueprint. Ten cloth. Six slots. You place it on fairly flat dirt, fill it, then hold E to bury it.
Buried, it is invisible. You get it back by standing close and staring at the burial spot until it rises. Forget the landmark and the kit is gone.
Stashes decay after a few real-life days if nobody checks them. They also pop if a foundation lands on them or if someone hammers the ground until they hear the thud.
Common hides: under trees near monuments, beside rocks on a hill, inside a “empty” 2x1 yard, next to a road you farm every hour. That is exactly where people look.
What the overlay adds

You still walk there. You still loot the six slots. You just skip the 40-minute bush check that finds nothing.

Is the hammer method faster? Only if you already know the tile. ESP is faster for unknown ground. Hammer still works if you play without an overlay.
Will this clutter my screen? Use the stash toggle alone while you hunt. Turn it off when you roam so player boxes stay readable.
